it’s very hard for us both to believe, but we’ve now lived in this home for an entire year.
whenever i’m feeling frustrated with it, the line from It’s a Wonderful Life pops into my head,
where George Bailey kisses the broken knob on the stair rail.
there are still so many things we plan on fixing in this house, but all in all, for a first year, we’re pretty pleased.
since living here, we’ve painted every room (one, more than once).
we’ve bought a dishwasher, washer and dryer, had our electricity worked on,
and had an audit done on the house to make it more energy efficient.
we’ve built shelves, painted the refrigerator, purchased dozens of yard sale finds to furnish it.
we’ve planted fruit trees, and dog woods, and heirloom tulip bulbs.
Jonathan has made a home for six charming chickens.
and we’re in the process of turning it’s smallest room into the coziest nursery we can manage.
it is our home, and we love it, and feel so blessed to have it.
