Love and Life

happiness and home.

this winter I have passed many days cooped up inside.

between it being one of Nashville’s coldest winters and worst flu seasons, we haven’t been tempted to get our newborn out of doors.

fortunately, we’re pretty happy in our home and love making it better.

recently, Jonathan replaced the ceiling light in the dining room with a light that was actually a wedding present from our dear family-friend Denise (my dad came over and spent hours helping him to make this possible!), made nesting boxes for the chickens (who have all started laying beautiful eggs!), and painted a book shelf for Edmond’s room.

I started back to work last week, and it felt so lovely to be back. my students independently arranged a welcome back party for me (complete with self-made decorations and cake), and I knew Edmond was in amazing hands at his grandparent’s house. plus, it made coming home to him so much more sweet.

while home, we’re enjoying: reading, playing music, and staring at our son.

he gives happiness a new meaning.

Edmond, at 6 weeks, continues to amaze us with how easy and entertaining he is. he sleeps a ton, eats a ton, grunts a ton, and coos a ton. he’s not much for crying.

he is the perfect little companion. we are just crazy about him.
